psuzannes --

Based on my experience as a former private school parent in the
Washington, D.C. area, I think that tuition insurance is likely to be
generally available here. I believe that schools often have
arrangements with one or more approved carriers and provide
applications and plan information to parents as part of the enrollment
process. If your employer does not mind sharing the name of the
school in question, I would be happy to follow through and try to
obtain more information on the policies offered to students at that
school.

Mark-GA, Sorry this has taken me so long but the school my employers

To other researchers:

Feel free to answer this question. I have withdrawn my original
answer because the questioner is only interested in insurance plans
purchased directly by a parent and which are supplementary to the
insurance company-funded fee refund programs (also often called
"tuition insurance") commonly offered to parents by colleges and
private schools. My answer focused on the latter only.
