Hello skeeter,

The mean is 7 and one third (7.33), the median is 5 and the mode is
also 5.

To find the mean, you have to add up all the numbers and divide the
total by the number of separate numbers that you have.
In your example, you have 9 separate numbers, which together add up to
66. Therefore the mean is 66 divided by 9. 9 goes into 66 7 times (7 x
9 = 63), leaving 3 over. 3/9 (three ninths) can be divided top and
bottom by 3 to make 1/3 (one third). Therefore, the mean is 7 and one
third (or 7.33 recurring if you need the answer in decimals -
recurring means that the 3s after the decimal point carry on for
however many places you need).

To find the median, you first need to arrange the numbers in order of
size, which will give you 3,4,5,5, 5, 6,8,15,15 The median is the
number that comes in the exact middle. You have nine separate
numbers, so the number that comes 5th will have four numbers before it
and four numbers after it -
3,4,5,5 * 5 * 6,8,15,15 Therefore the median is 5.

The mode is the number that appears the most often. If you look at
your set of numbers, you see that 5 appears three times, 15 appears
twice, and the other numbers only appear once - 3, 4, * 5,5,5 * 6, 8,
15,15 Therefore the mode is also 5.
