I normally use http://www.reversephonedirectory.com/ to find out whose phone number a number is. I think the country code you included is a UK number, but the phone number is not in a UK format (too many digits). If all else fails, dial it and see who answers! |

"Reverse search" of telephone numbers are illegal in the United Kingdom under Data Protection legislation. There are no reverse search directories in the UK, and they may not be provided using data extrapolated from official directories. A search using the telephone code locater at http://www.ukphoneinfo.com/section/tci/locator.shtml for the UK number 0800 761 2211 shows that it is operated by Jupiter Modes Ltd. Note this is the operator of the number, not the actual user. Jupiter Modes Ltd provide non-geographic numbering and other services for their clients. They have a website at http://www.jupitermodes.com/ Owain |

It certainly looks like a UK number, and owain-ga is right about reverse directory telephone searches here. You generally can't find out this sort of information for the UK. Of course, the police can if you are being harrassed. Given that 0800 numbers are freephone numbers operated by businesses, I went ahead and called it for you. A machine lady asked me for my PIN. I hung up. |

is it possible it's a 'calling card' number? I had a free long distance phone card - I called a toll free number and it asked me for a pin number (the number is on the back of the card, you scratch off a coating to reveal the pin) Just a thought Ducky |
