Hi,
I'm looking for as complete a reading list as possible (with relevant
www weblinks) of articles/reports/analyses on Public Private
Partnerships (PPPs)and the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) which is
the UK's version of PPPs. Articles which explain how PPPs work, who
the participants are and what their agendas are, definitions of key
PPP terminology would be useful. Any articles or reports on the use of
PPPs in Africa would be particularly valuable.
Thanks!

Greetings 101606:

Regarding the PFIs, I have located a few very comprehensive documents
regarding information about them:

Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Local Government and the Private
Finance Initiative, An explanatory note on PFI and Public/Private
Partnerships in local government
http://www.local-regions.odpm.gov.uk/pfi/

Is the Private Finance Initiative a Good Deal?
"Paul Grout argues that the rules that dictate when to opt for PFI/PPP
instead of public provision are flawed. Despite views to the contrary
he contends that it is the benefits of private sector provision not
public sector that are most likely to be underestimated by the current
process."

This is also a very comprehensive website for PFI enlightenment:

This seems an excellent source for learning and for discovering

Case studies are available for download from
http://www.undp.org/pppue/gln/case.htm and there are two lengthy
papers listed there concerning Africa:

I think this entire website is an excellent source. See the optionin
