The hard part here would be looking for the cheapest online
bookstores. In reality, no one bookstore or even five bookstores are
cheaper than all the rest. For example, in Store X, item A can be
cheaper than in store Y, but item B can be more expensive in that
store X than store Y. That's a more realistic picture.
In case this part of the question is unanswerable, would you be
willing to settle for just the other parts instead?

Sure. Instead of the 5 cheapest, can we add the info for these instead
(if they do not fall in the most popular):
BN.com
Ecampus.com
Powells.com
Half.com
Alibris.com
Thanks!

Um, what sort of information are you looking for on these five
websites, is it the kind of information you placed in parentheses
under your no. 2 question?

items under question 3) and 4) for sites in 1) and 2).
To reiterate: the 5 most popular bookstores PLUs the ones I mentioned
in my previous clarification; some of the ones I pointed out may be
included in the top 5 popular (such as Amazon). Once we have that
list, then I need to know where they charge tax, and then how much is
tax for books for the relevant states.
Thanks!

Sorry for not replying for so long... I find the information you need
truly hard to get, given that I'm not in the US. I'll let another
researcher bag this, if he/she can find the information. Apologies and
good luck.
