This is an old country western song. Female vocalist. The theme is lost love--- she still loves him and wishes things had gone differently, but they are both now involved with others and their lives have gone in different directions. Much of the song is spoken instead of being sung. |

I think the song may have been "Slowly" by Jimmie Dean and Dottie West. However, I cannot locate the lyrics online. Best regards, journalist-ga |

Thanks for your comment, but I do not remember any male vocalist being on it. |

rdepee, I don't mean to be glib, but your description covers a sizable percentage of country music. Can you remember any other details that might help us to narrow it down? Snippets of lyrics? - Hammer |

Ha ha. I am trying to find this country western song about this guy who finds his wife cheating on him so he drives his pickup to the bar and gets drunk. |

To Hammer: Thanks for your comment. I cannot remember any other details, just a heartfelt female expressing her regret for missing the romantic opportunity of a lifetime. rdepee |

Just to try to jog your memory... Country songs of this type often have a tagline. They have a clever lyric that is repeated in every verse and chorus, but they change the meaning. For example, the lyric "How can I help you to say goodbye?" in the first verse in spoken by a mother to her child, in the second verse to a husband by his wife and, in the third verse by a grandfather to his grandchild. Can you recall if your song had something like this? - Hammer |

To Hammer: Thanks for your comment. I remember no tagline, no clever lyrics, just a heartfelt expression of words spoken, not sung. Maybe part of it is sung. I don't think the lyrics even rhyme very much. rdepee |
