Dear matty88,

Thank you for an interesting question. However, your question requires
an extensive research. Given that your current price of $2.00 will put
only 75% of that ($1.50) into the Researcher's pocket, I recommend
you'll reconsider the price you offer for this question.

You might want to consider reviewing the pricing guide, in order to

I really need just a link (have been unable to find one). On the
chance that they have no Web presence, I would need the contact
information, preferably their customer service/sales phone number.
I think there is a possibilty that they are a precursor company to one
of the more well-known "Who's Who" directory/publishers, and thus may
be covered by an existing link/company, but I've not been able to find
this on the sites for such companies as Marquis
(www.marquiswhoswho.com) etc. I see citations where people's bios and
CVs say that they have been listed in the Foxington Who's Who of
exectuives and professionals, for example, but cannot find a link or a
reference that brings me to Foxington. Thanks.

Is there any chance that you could be seeking info on the "Lexington
Who's Who," an annual publication featuring biographies of executives
and professionals?

Pinkfreud has done it again!

If there really were such a thing as "Foxington", it wouldn't show up
on just a handful of resumes. Lexington is much more common, and is a
real directory to boot. I assume that the people who have posted
"Foxington" on their resumes were simply copying a mistake that they
had seen on the Web.

So I hope that you will allow pinkfreud to post an answer.

My hypothesis was that Foxington was a former name for National
Register. However, I called National Register, and the person I
talked to said it wasn't. Perhaps the person was somehow misinformed,
but for the moment, this remains a mystery.

I searched WorldCat, the union catalog of US libraries, for
"Foxington" as a keyword and found nothing. This doesn't necessarily
mean it doesn't exist - it just means that something with the word
Foxington in the title or author's name isn't held by any of the
libraries in the database (all research and many public libraries in
the US).

The only references of this on the Web are in the resumes of fairly
unremarkable people. The publication calls itself the Who's Who
Directory of Executives and Professionals. I'm guessing it comes under
the "vanity publishing" category, where people pay money to be
included so that they can say they are in a "Who's Who". From time to
time, I and colleagues at work get letters touting a similar directory
of scientists. We are told we are invited for our "outstanding"
contributions to science. There's only one problem - although we are
all qualified scientists, none of us are active in laboratory
research!!!
