Question ID: 203866
Mission: To find all video and/or audiotape of press conferences of
former Iraqi Information Minister Mohammad Saeed al-Sahaf, aka
'Baghdad Bob', given between March 22-April 9, 2003.

Sources: Fox news, CNN, ABC and any Govt footage available. Can be
foreign sources as well. I know CNN outsources their transcripts to
private company, which I suppose most do.

Question: Who are the companies they outsource to, and how do I order
video/audio. I would like to know specific ordering information with
transcript numbers and whether or not I can order full press
conferences or just snippets.

A good answer would provide company names, contact numbers,Dates of
press conferences(they were given daily, but April is of most interest
to me) transcript numbers, and ordering information.

Hello -

Please note: This answer is not finished until you're satisfied with
it. If you choose to rate this answer, I ask that you do so after
asking for any necessary clarification/information. Thanks for your
understanding.

A company called "Multivision" handles about 500 different channels
[CNN, FOX, MSN, etc.] Their pricing is as follows:

FOOTAGE TIME VHS COST DVD COST Digital Format [email]
=====================================================================
1 min. - 10 min. $105 $165 $195

11 min. - 30 min. $120 $195 $235

31 min. - 60 min. $135 $215 $275

There are also bulk rates for all 3 formats [bundled].

CNN [all subsidiaries], Bloomberg, Kron San Francisco, WLS carry a 15%
licensing premium on their footage.

Because they offer so many stations, the easiest way to do this is to
have them generate written reports on each day you're interested in
for Mohammad Saeed al-Sahaf press conference footage. Each report is
about $10 [up to about $500 worth, and then it's a flat fee for an
unlimited number]. They tell you what was said in general, the time
it aired, and what station it aired on. You would then use those
reports as the basis for ordering the video footage.

Orders are done right over the phone with a credit card. Important:
you want to talk to the account executive named Jamie.

Incredibly happy with the thoroughness and specificity of answer. I
already spoke with the person she referred me to and it was JUST what
the doctor ordered. Thank you very much, you saved me hours of time I
don't have.
