What has the Chinese kung fu actor John Liu been doing since 1984? Has he appeared in any TV shows or movies, and are they available? I've found filmographies around the net, but they usually end at 1984 with "Ninja vs. the CIA". But then I see this: http://www.orientalfilms.co.uk/trinity/trinityhome.htm http://www.orientalfilms.co.uk/trinity/trinityc+c.htm http://www.orientalfilms.co.uk/trinity/robertosays.htm http://www.orientalfilms.co.uk/imagegallery/trinity/action33.jpg And I think he must still be active somehow. Is that movie available, and are there others? |

The links you mention refer to "Trinity Goes East" (1998) of which John Liu was a producer and also an actor. While the movie itself does not appear to be available in most regular outlets, it is available through Ground-Zero Entertainment. This is the film's distributor and can be purchased through them at http://www.ground-zero-ent.com/Press_Room/trinity.htm. Also available is the movie's soundtrack. It can be purchased on Footlight Records website at http://www.footlight.com/product.cfm?product_id=8929. Unfortunately there are no track samples. As to where John Liu has been in regards to movies and television, the previous movie he took part in was "Robby the Rascal" (1985). This is an animated feature and John Liu did the voice of Maximo. "Trinity Goes East" marked his reentry into the industry. Further information about "Trinity Goes East": "A new 'Trinity' film has just been completed in Italy and Spain. The film is called 'Trinity Goes East' and it's part Spaghetti Western and part Kung Fu. The film is currently being dubbed into English in Rome. The film stars two new actors (playing Trinity and Bambino) and from what I can gather the actor playing Trinity is British or American and the actor portraying Bambino is a Bud Spencer look alike from South America. The music is (apparently) great. It was composed and directed by Alessandro Alessandroni who as we all know is responsible for the whistle and chorus on the best Italian Western scores. Over 90 minutes of music has been recorded and it is currently been mixed for a possible CD release in November. The CD will probably be released by Lionel Woodman who was responsible for the "El Puro" CD a couple of years ago." http://members.aol.com/Sartana/news1.html Additional information: Internet Movie Database: Trinity Goes East http://us.imdb.com/Title?0304850 Internet Movie Database: Robby the Rascal http://us.imdb.com/Title?0290047 Internet Movie Database: John Liu http://us.imdb.com/Name?Liu,+John+(I) EZBoard about Trinity series http://pub9.ezboard.com/fthedigitalterrorforumfrm15.showMessageRange? topicID=48.topic&start=21&stop=26 Search terms used: "trinity goes east" dvd "trinity goes east" vhs trinity goes east | |

This is a very good answer, if correct. I wonder what he was doing during those years, instead of making movies? |

I believe Northern Kicks, Southern Fist was made in 1979 and Dragon on Fire was 1978. '87 and '86 are probably re-release dates. The best filmography I've found was posted on a message board: http://pub95.ezboard.com/fkungfufandomfrm1.showMessage?topicID=633.topic (view with Google cache, scroll to "John's Filmography including AKA's...") Thanks for the clarification though! I'm trying to contact Ground Zero now to see if Trinity Goes East is really available. I can't find it for sale at any of their "retail partners". They're not really a retailer. |
