In addition, Fodor’s has a good selection of basic maps for each world region
it reviews. To see the maps, go to

http://www.fodors.com/miniguides/

and choose a region. On the resulting page look for the Maps heading on the
left sidebar. These maps are not interactive.

Heif,

If you are interested in including an actual interactive map on your own web
page rather than a link to it, the following site from the above list expressly
permits that function:

http://www.lasoo.com/

“'LasooLink' allows Web Masters to embed Lasoo's geovisual searching right on
their own websites. Users need only type in WHAT they are looking for and WHERE
they are looking for it to round up great results with Lasoo.”

Regards,
Cindy

thanks for your help. your first answer was not relevant, but your second one
was --- yes, i'm looking for interactive maps for my website. thanks for the
suggestion (lasoo) -- please let me know if you find any others. (then, i'll
go ahead and be done with this question.) thanks!

Multimap appears to offer interactive maps to small websites for free in
exchange for a banner ad placed on the site, you can also pay a fee and have no
banner ad.

Hope this helps,

In the UK the Ordnance Survey has a superb service allowing users to home in on the
area they are interested and use the results (1:50,000 and 1:250,000 scale) royalty free
on personal non-commercial websites:

Look for the 'Get-a-map' link. There are some specific (though generous) conditions
which I urge you to read and abide by for your own protection. There are separate more
generous conditions for the Education sector. All material for Northern Ireland requires
separate permission.
