Good morning clouseau. I just spent half an hour or so defining a
special cigar question for you. Decided to edit it; when I clicked to
go back to edit question; I was asked to confrim my password, when I
did that my lenghty detailed question had vanished. In case it is
still in the "system" somewhere I seek your advice/comment etc.
Obvioulsy I can re-write my question again but this is the same sort
of problem I often had with a UK based email service that I dispensed
with for that reason. Could there perhaps be something wrong with my
lap top? Or are these just a "time-out" problems that I have to cope
with? Maybe I could do any lengthy questions in "Word" then cut and
paste from the WordDoc into the "GA Question Box"?? If not I will have
to just think things through and make hand-written notes before
commencing to type. Thanking you in advance from Roger
p.s. The thought just occurred to me that maybe had not "logged-on"
first as I usually do!

Good morning Roger,

Actually, I am West Coast USA so just three hours behind you.

I have sent off email to the Google Answers Editors asking if they can
advise what might have happened to your question. I will let you know
what they reply, but they may not return to the office until Monday
morning. I fear the question has been lost to the ether.

Personally, I always recommend creating a text message for *any* web
based form in either Notepad or the program I use that is a bit more
flexible called "MetaPad". Word will often format text in such as way
as it is not particularly well formatted for a text box entry when you
cut and paste.

MetaPad is available free at http://www.liquidninja.com/metapad/

Most likely the problem was in "clicking to go back", as you mention.
If you were editing in a live window and went back, you were probably
no longer in the mode of creating the question. As I have never asked
a question here at Google Answers (and probably should to be more
attuned with our customers and their experience), I can only guess
that that was what caused all of your editing to be lost. So sorry
your work was lost.

Do feel free to expire this question so you are not charged and I will
look forward to your question on cigars! And, enjoy Havana!

Good morning clouseau from down town Havanna. I have decided to pack
up and leave this place. They (the Cubans) make the Nigerians look
like Girl Guides selling cookies! I have also found a site in Brisbane
Australia that can supply my son with everything he need, it is:

              http://www.tobaccostation.com.au/customtubes.asp

It may cost a little more but quality etc will be assured and
guaranteed!
Will shout you a nice cognac down the track and close this off for
now.
