Hello faron--

Would you mind clarifying?

Your question states you're looking for "share price declines" and
"dates and share prices are important."

Are you looking for a researcher to find daily stock prices for these
companies along with the corresponding dates?

Is there any particular format you need the data to be in?

Hi Faron,

Thanks for your question. The easiest way to get you this information
would be for me to download it and email you a spreadsheet of the
data, however as this is not permitted on Google Answers, I will have
to quickly and easily walk you through how I derived the information
you seek (don't worry, it's quick and easy!)

Stock share price decline information for Cisco, Lucent and MCI
Worldcomm during the timeframe you specified is readily available on
the Web, along with dates and share prices. First, I should note that
there was no trading on April 1st nor April 2nd in 2000, nor was there
trading on December 28th in 2002. Also, I should note that after the
merger of MCI Worldcomm, the company trades under two ticker symbols -
MCWEQ and WCOEQ - I have thus provided info below for both ticker
symbols.

The source I have found to be easiest to use/get quick data from is
Yahoo Finance. I started the exercise below (which I will walk you
through in a moment) at:

http://table.finance.yahoo.com/d?a=3&b=1&c=2000&d=11&e=28&f=2002&g=d&s=

This link will allow you to specify any date range and ticker symbol
and get a listing of historical stock prices in table format. After
clicking on "Get Data", you'll get a partial listing of the stock
prices. Go to the bottom of the list and click "Download Spreadsheet
Format." This will bring up the spreadsheet in your browser - with the
complete list of stock prices in your date range - and you should save
this spreadsheet to your desktop to manipulate/sort the information as
you desire.

This seemed an important requirement you, as if I simply gave you a
list of stock price declines - without providing you with the ability
to sort the information as you desire - this would not be a complete
answer (e.g., perhaps you want to be able to sort the price declines
from smallest declilne to greatest decline by date, to quickly see on
which date Lucent or MCI had the
greatest price change, etc.) This is much more difficult with a static
list, versus a spreadsheet you can download and manipulate.

Below, for each stock, I provide you with simple instructions on how
to quickly get the daily stock share price declines for each stock,
and sort the price information accordingly:

Cisco (CSCO)
http://table.finance.yahoo.com/table.csv?a=3&b=1&c=2000&d=11&e=28&f=2002&s=csco&y=0&g=d&ignore=.csv

Lucent Technologies (LU)
http://table.finance.yahoo.com/table.csv?a=3&b=1&c=2000&d=11&e=28&f=2002&s=lu&y=0&g=d&ignore=.csv

Worldcom MCI (WCOEQ)
http://table.finance.yahoo.com/table.csv?a=3&b=1&c=2000&d=11&e=28&f=2002&s=wcoeq&y=0&g=d&ignore=.csv

Worldcom MCI (MCWEQ)
http://table.finance.yahoo.com/table.csv?a=3&b=1&c=2000&d=11&e=28&f=2002&s=mcweq&y=0&g=d&ignore=.csv

Each of the above links has a six column spreadsheet of each stock's
daily price information:

Date, Open, High, Low, Close and Volume, from April 3rd, 2000 to
December 27, 2002. First, save each spreadsheet somewhere on your
desktop where you can manipulate the data.

Let's start by using CSCO as an example of how to get the price
decline information. In the seventh column of the CSCO spreadsheet -
Column G - enter the following in cell G2:

=e2-b2

Hit Enter, and this will bring up the stock share price decline (or
rise) for CSCO on that day, by subtracting the value of the stock
share at its open (B2) from the value of the stock share at its close
(E2). Hit enter, and you have the price decline for December 27, 2002
in cell G2.

Select cell G2 of the spreadsheet - where you just entered that
information - and you'll notice a little black square in the lower
right corner of the cell. Double click on that little black square,
and information should fill down all the way in Column G, filling in
the stock share price changes for each day of CSCO stock trading going
all the way back to April of 2000.

You now have the stock share price change information by day for
Cisco. If you would like to see the list sorted according to greatest
price decline, select cell A2, hold down the SHIFT key, and select
cell G2. Then scroll down to the last line of data in the spreadsheet,
hold down the SHIFT key again and select cell G688. This should
highlight the whole list.

Now go up to the DATA menu at the top of your spreadsheet
application/browser, and select SORT. A menu will pop up, and where
"Date" is highlighted, select Column G instead. Hit OK, and the list
will sort according to when the greatest stock share price decline (or
rise) was.

Follow these quick guidelines for each of the stocks above, and you
have stock share price decline information for Cisco, Lucent, and MCI
Worldcomm, in a format that allows you to view the data as you like.

NOTE: You can also easily view the stock share price declines
according to the *percentage* decline for each historical date. E.g.,
on which date did Cisco or Lucent or MCI have the greatest one day
percentage drop in stock price (as opposed to greatest point drop in
stock price above?) To get this information, enter the following in
cell H2:

=G2/B2*100

Then double click on the little black box in cell H2 (just like you
did before for cell G2) to fill the values all the way down the
column. Now you have a listing of each day's percentage decline. If
you highlight the entire list again (by selecting cell B2, then
pressing SHIFT, then H2, then scrolling to the bottom, holding SHIFT
again, but now selecting cell H688), you can sort the whole table by
column H this time (by going to the DATA menu at the top of the
browser, just like you did for column G before.) This will sort the
list according to each day's stock share price *percentage* decline.

Hi again Faron,

It occurred to me that while I listed the two MCI Worldcomm stock
ticker symbols WCOEQ & MCWEQ, I did not list the link for WCOM, the
ticker you specified. The reason I did not include it is because the
historical data only comes up through June of 2002. As you specified a
date range of December 2002, I felt the WCOEQ & MCWEQ tickers were
more appropriate.

However, if you want to download and save the historical spreadsheet
data for the ticker symbol WCOM, you can access it here:

http://table.finance.yahoo.com/table.csv?a=3&b=1&c=2000&d=11&e=28&f=2002&s=wcom&y=0&g=d&ignore=.csv
