Is there a way to auto-login to a web-based account?

I have an mail forwarding account that is free for life. The internet
company used this service to boost its subscriber numbers when it
IPO'd. When the bubble burst, suddenly these free accounts became a
burden and they changed the terms of service to make me login every 60
days (the period keeps getting shorter). The thing is, this is an
account that simply forwards mail; there's no reason for me to login.

I am looking for a web (or other) service that will login and logout
every X days, just to refresh my activity for me. I gave it out the
address to colleagues when I left a job and nothing very private ever
passes through that address, so I'm not worried about security.

What service are we talking about? If it is easy enough, it might be
possible to create a little application or shortcut for you.

Thanks for your interest in my question, tisme-ga.

The mail service is http://www.mail.com

They'll issue free IDs so it's possible to test the methodology.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

An app, script, shortcut, etc. would be fine.

Try saving this page and use it as homepage.
It will login once per session or if you open a new browser
<html>
<head>
<script>
function testLogin() {
   if (document.cookie.indexOf('maildone') != -1) return;
   document.loginForm.submit();
   document.cookie='maildone=true';
}
</script>
</head>
<body onLoad="testLogin()">
<form method="post" action="http://www.mail.com/scripts/common/proxy.main"
name="loginForm">
<INPUT type="hidden" name="action" value="login">
<input type="hidden" name="show_frame" value="Enter">
<input type="hidden" name="mail_language" value="us">
<input type="hidden" name="login" value="your mail.com email
address><br>
<input type="hidden" name="password" value="yourpassword"><br>
</form>
</body>

Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work, but thanks very much anyway,
mplungjan-ga. I know you spent time on it. If you want, I'll give
you a week to repost it as an answer to claim payment and four stars.

The problem, though is now moot. Mail.com has recently removed their
free forwarding feature and made it a premium service, forcing me to
log in frequently to check the mail because they won't offer POP. I
prefer to use fastmail.fm which is better in just about every way
possible, so I guess I'll just abandon my mail.com address and
register the email redirection instructions on veripost.com.

the ads on the question confirmation page, and save me the trouble and
expense of paying for research?
