Hi,

I was wondering if there are weather sensors out there that I can
configure at a location of interest, to cover a marina or beach area,
and pick up information such as wind speed, humidity, temperature,
water conditions, Claude conditions by measuring light perhaps.

This isn't my area, so excuse the inappropriate parameters if any.

Any ideas that can expand on that would be great.

I will be using the above sensors to promote and market a beach area
and marina by sending out condition news and update via mobile phone
messages and pagers to members of that area.

Thank you.

If IP enabled hardware is not located, I do have access to serial-2-IP
devices which can be connected and configured as remote IP enabled
serial ports.

That adds cost and complexity, but if it must be used, then so be it.

Your best bet would to be find the closest weather stations (which if
you are in the states should be within 20 miles) and write a short
program to automatically poll noaa or a related site, and then send
out the reports decoded, as the equipment you are talking about, with
that functionality, is of the very expensive variety. If you have
your heart set on it, I would suggest talking to a small local
airport, and see if they have an old automated weather observing
system which is already set up to upload its hourly observations to
the internet, as you could easily tweak it to send them to a certain
location, for dissemination to wireless phones.
