I need to compile a list of shopping malls in the State of California,
sorted by City or town and I need to also include an indicator of the
size of the mall. The size of the mall can either be stated in terms
of the number of stores or the square footage of the entire mall. The
following link is an example of what I need - I could only find it for
Los Angeles. http://www.losangelesalmanac.com/topics/Economy/ec15.htm
Note: I also need the street address and the zip code but not
telephone numbers. I also need the sources for all data.

Hello elbow-ga,

There are 308 major shopping malls in California.

I cannot post the list of them here because that would violate
copyright protections. However, I can certainly direct you to the
online source of information and step you through the process of
getting the required information.

However, the source of the information charges a fee for info
retrieval (separate from any fees you would pay here to Google
Answers). For all 308 listings, the fee is about $150 for summary
info, which includes basic name, address, and size information...the
fee could be more if you want more detailed information.

Let me know if directing you to this source, and providing
instructions for its use, would be a satisfactory answer to your
question.

An accurate list of the 40,000? tiny stripmalls can be obtained only
by driving millions of miles of streets and writing down the addresses
and estimates of the number of stores and total square footage. Likely
no one has or will do this as the information would be dated a month
later. Why would any one need this information? My guess is 1/2 of the
letters addressed to the mall management at the street address of the
mall will not be delivered to a useful person. Neil
