Question1:
I have a dell latitude CPx laptop. Will the dell removable internal
dvd drive play dvd -r type discs? I am planning on using a
Panasonic(20 or 30) DVD recorder player to copy my videos collection
on to DVD's. Question 2: what is the most effientand least expensive
way to copy my collection of about 100 videos to DVD. at what speed
etc. The quality does not have to be perfect.

I would like more infomation about this answer below, why would VCD or
Divx be better than DVD-r.
also to clarify the question:I have access to a collection of about 50
2hr videos about meditation (these videos are not copywrited they are
not feature films). I want to be able to play them on my dell latitude
laptop. I have access to a panasonic DVD recordedr player. But I am
open to any cheap efficient method of accomplishing the task.
Thank you.

CompUSA or BestBuy with a rebate has meada for about
$2 a disc - but I
think changing your video collection to VCD wold be
better idea (as it
still plays in a home dvd player) or better yet Divx
(only can be
played on the computer). As Cd media ranges form 10
cents a disc with
out a rebate to free after rebate.

Finalize means check the finalize box on your buring
program (don't
leave open to record more data).

The dell will play the dvd-r discs, but you must finalize them first
with the panasonic recorder. The dell will NOT play dvd-ram discs,
though. Make sure they are dvd-r. On the panasonic recorder, the SP
recording mode gies you 2 hours per dvd. That is pretty good quality.
You can get discs for under a dollar each, so recording your movies
will be relatively inexpensive.

The recording XP gives the best quality, but only 1 hour per disc, so
go with SP.
