Hello lindseyl!
Thanks for the interesting question. Although finding the answer was a
bit more difficult than I thought, I finally found it at Zap2it.com
Zap2it.com
http://tv.zap2it.com/news/ratings/syndication/020519syn.html
So, according to this TV portal, the rating for the Rosie O'Donnell
show on the week of 05/13/02 to 05/19/02 was 2.6, meaning that it was
seen in 2,741,000 households.
Unfortunately, this is the only source I found for this information.
TV Marketing research is mostly conducted by Nielsen Media:
http://www.nielsenmedia.com
but they definitely won't give away the TV ratings of shows for free.
If you're interested in Rosie O'Donnell's show, you might want to
visit its home page at
http://rosieo.warnerbros.com/pages/rosieo/home.jsp
Or, if you want to find out what's the national viewership for other
show, try
http://tv.zap2it.com/news/ratings/
For this search I used the terms
"rosie o'donnell" viewership
"rosie o'donnell" nielsen ratings
I hope this answers your question. If you need further information,
please request a clarification, I'll be more than happy to search for
more details.

According to census data available at the University of Virginia, the
average number of persons per household in the USA is 2.66 (although
this is a 1988 figure, it shouldn't be too different today). So
2,741,000 x 2.66 = 7,291,060 people. Of course, the fact that a
household has their TV set tuned to Rosie O'Donnell's show, doesn't
mean that all the members of the family are actually watching it; but
then again, there's no survey measuring the exact number of people
watching the show.

I hope this is the clarification you were expecting. If it's not,
please let me know.
