Hi, As you may know, you cannot split MPEG files like ordinary binary files. You have to use an MPEG-aware splitter. There is a shareware tool called "TMPGEnc Plus" which can be used for 14 days before registering. Older versions used to be freeware, if you can find. Although TMPGEnc is actually meant to be an MPEG authoring tool, it also hosts an MPEG split/merge utility. TMPGEnc Plus can be downloaded from: http://www.pegasys-inc.com/ The main steps for splitting an MPEG file is as follows: 1. Go to File > Mpeg Tools in TMPGEnc 2. By pressing the 'Add' button select your original MPEG file 3. Choose the video type you are trying to cut (MPEG-1 Video CD in your case) 4. In the "Output" field, type in a name for the part you wish to create 5. Double click the original filename in the list 6. Use the slider bar or the time selections and press the beginning ( [ ) and end ( ] ) buttons to denote the range. 7. When you are done press the OK button. You will return to the previous window. Press Start to begin splitting. 8. Repeat the same steps for part two (and three, etc) A better tutorial (with screenshots) can be found at: Cutting & Joining Mpeg-1 & 2 with TMPGEnc http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/cut-join-mpeg.htm Some other tutorials: How to edit/join/split a MPEG-1/MPEG-2 with TMPGEnc http://www.gojiita.net/majinbuu/musicvideos/cutjoinedit.htm How to edit/join/split a MPEG-1/MPEG-2 with TMPGEnc http://www.dvdrhelp.com/tmpgencedit.htm AccuSplit FAQ http://members.cox.net/accusplit_support/accusplit_faq.htm#Q6 Hope this helps Regards Bio Google Answers Researcher Search strategy: tmpgenc tmpgenc mpeg split |
