Hi sandrasarale, I have lots of information for you. I called Peterbilt and spoke to Mr. Craig Kendall who is the "Corporate Used Truck Manager". I asked him for the best way to determine the value of used Peterbilt trucks. Here's his contact information and what he recommended: Peterbilt Motors Company 1700 Woodbrook Street Denton, TX 76205-7864 1-940-591-4087 - Craig Kendall's direct line at Peterbilt 1-940-4000 - Peterbilt (Main Switchboard) 1) Take the truck to a Peterbilt Dealer and ask them to do an appraisal. Some dealers do this for free. 2) Contact a lender, someone who typically would finance Peterbilts/Trucks (locate in the Yellow Pages), and ask what they would LOAN on the exact truck you are considering purchasing. Then compare the asking price to the amount a lender would loan. 3) Mr Kendall recommended two websites for determining value: NADA Online http://www.nada.org Truck Blue Book - Primeda Price Digests http://pricedigests.com/commercial/commercial.htm 4) Go to the Peterbilt website [ http://www.peterbilt.com ] and click on "TRUCK LOCATOR" --from there you can locate trucks similiar to the one you are considering purchasing and compare prices. It is also an excellent resource for you to locate Used Peterbilt Trucks... I hope this information will be useful to you, if I can help further, don't hesitate to ask for a clarification before rating my answer. --Cynthia Search Strategy: Peterbilt and "blue book" Peterbilt and "resale value" Called Peterbilt (VERY helpful Comapny) |

Expect to put $1000 plus of your money into your truck project. Lenders like you to have a big commitment to succeed as they don't like to take posession of a truck because you get behind on the payments. A detailed business plan, resume and impressive references will often get you a lower interest rate and or a bigger loan. A wealthy co-signer is even better for the lender. Neil |
