Dear [NAME]:

Like everyone in the film industry, I'm sure you are vey concerned
about theft and counterfeiting of intellectual property. The
unauthorized reproduction and forgery of films, videos, DVD's and
other properties is costing the industry billions in diverted sales.
How much has your company lost from this unfair and illegal practice?

I am writing to introduce to you the services that my firm can offer
to effectively halt many of these illegal counterfeiting activities,
and to return a substantial amount of lost revenue to your company's
bottom line. I can offer a rare combination of expertise and
experience in tracking illegal theft of intellectual property, and
seeking reimbursements for lost revenues. Although bringing actions
in a court of law to recoup losses from those responsible is always an
option, it has been my experience that most instances of copyright
infringement and theft -- once they are revealed in the light of day
-- can be settled out of court through a process of negotiation.

My company handles all aspects of this process, from uncovering
unauthorized reproduction and use of your film materials, to reaching
final negotiated settlements with responsible parties to recover all
losses. We have been in business for many years, and have had many
successful interventions for film companies all over the world. I
have included some additional information about myself and my company
and our loss-recovery operations in an attachment to this letter. As
I think you will agree, we have an impressive track record of success.

I'd like to emphasize that there is virtually no risk to you or your
company in engaging my services. Any monies recovered as a result of
my efforts are returned directly to your company, less a 35%
commission. If no money is recovered, there is no charge for my
services, other than a modest reimbursement for direct expenses.

I'm sure you have questions about my company's operations and track
record. Some of these will be answered by perusing the attached
materials, which detail many of the successes I have had for other
clients. But the best means of answering all questions is for you and
I to meet, to discuss how to best protect your company's commercial
assets.

I will call your office shortly to arrange a time that we can get
together at your convenience.

Thank you for your attention to this serious matter.

Sincerely.

Most producers of movies will pretend to be very helpful in protecting
intellectual property copyrights etc, however their primary interest
is to avoid trouble with lawyers and courts, and cause the public to
think they are good citizens. Neil
