At age 71, I can represent the white male senior citizens: The kindergarden teacher eases the transition from home to class room with 20 or 30 other children. The kindergarden teacher reviews the skills that may have been taught at home or in pre-school. By the end of kindergarten all the children should have a good vocabulary for entering first grade, be able to count to several thousand, and recognize all the letters of the alphabet. In some kindergardens they learn beginners use of computers. Neil |
