This very question was researched and answered quite capably by my

However, I believe the most accurate answer to this question is that
passed down by my grandfather:

"He'd chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could, if a woodchuck could
chuck wood."

That answer is quite obviously correct, as woodchucks are famous for
their work ethic.
