I want to be able to search my hard drive in a more complex way than Win2k allows me to. It would also be nice if searches didn't take so long and to do that it would need to keep running stats on everything as things changed as well as simply doing searching ahead of time just like google does. Google doesn't search the entire internet when I do a query, so neither should Win2k on my computer. For instance, if I do a simple search for a specific filename across all my hard drives, it can take many minutes for it to tell me where that file is. I try to keep things organized, but I have 6 hard drives and I sometimes forget if I installed an app in c:\apps\NiceUtil or in g:\apps\NiceUtils or d:\utils\NiceUtilities or any of a million other possibilities. |
