Hi there Liltommytune!

Richard Belzer did not star in this TV program but Perry King did.
The show was called "Riptide" and was shown from 1984 to 1986, for
more information on this, visit the following pages:

http://entertainment.msn.com/movies/movie.aspx?m=170292

Description of the helicopter "Screaming Mimi" which gave me the title
of the show.

I hope this helps!
Kind regards,
errol-ga.

This question has been racking my brain for like 15 years. Everyone
I've ever talked to couldn't remember the name of the show but they
all remembered the screaming mimi. I don't know why I thought Richard
Belzer was in this series. My mistake. Cudos to you. It was really
worth it.

Definitely "Riptide."

One of the featured roles, Murray "Boz" Bozinsky was played by Thom
Bray, who looks quite a bit like Richard Belzer.

Bray is on the left in this photo:

I knew it was Riptide the moment you said "Perry King". I associate
him exclusively with that show, which I watched religiously (and now
of course wonder why) as a kid. What was the name of the geeky guy on
the show, though? I can't remember that one:)

Hi LTT,

Here's a bit of BelzTrivia goofing on your screen name:

"Auditioned for the role of Groucho Marx in the Tommy Tune production
"A Day in Hollywood, a Night in the Ukraine." Belzer taught himself
two songs from the 1930s ("Satin Doll" and "Brother, Can You Spare a
Dime?"), but did not get the part."

I hope you're old enough to remember Belzer's talk show "Hot
Properties." It was one of the better cable talk shows, but sadly its
only footnote in TV history seems to be the infamous Hulk Hogan
incident. Belzer's interviews with Tony Perkins and Raymond Burr were
far more memorable.

"Is there downloadable video footage anywhere on the internet of that
1985 talk show incident where Hulk Hogan accidentally dropped Richard
Belzer and busted his head open?

Unfortunately, no. For those unfamiliar with the incident, it occurred
on 03/28/85. Hulk Hogan and Mr. T. appeared on Belzer's show "Hot
Properties" to promote the first WrestleMania, which was held three
nights later."

I am not sure if Riptide is correct although it's on TV Acres. My
memory of the Screamin Mimi was on Simon and Simon-- I could have
SWORN this was their hellicopter?

Just so everyone knows, Hulk Hogans daughter Brooke Hogan is currently
trying to make her break into the music industry.
Endorsed by her dad, the Hulkster! Shes hoping for some recognition
due to the name "Hogan". Shes a very pretty girl,16 years old.
Hulkster don't allow her to date yet though;)
But shes got some talent, keep an eye our for her.
