Question ID: 208185
A bit more than 3 hours ago I asked what I thought was a relatively
simple question about uninstalling Kodak Picture Software. The
question was locked for just on 3 hours only to be unlocked with
no comment, no part answer or no explanation. I've had a cuppla chardonays
and maybe I'm missing something; but surely it would be the polite thing
to do to simply explain WHY?? It might just also save another resercher
some valuable time; not to mention me the "customer". Surely I deserve
to be given some sort of explanation. Anyway here's a glass of
virtual chardonay to sort of explain to me why such a courtesy would not
be extended by an experienced GAR. Yours in anticipation: Roger

Greetings Roger!

Nice to see you again! Hope your recent travels were pleasant and
interesting.

Some Researchers (I'm among them) will post their finding in a comment
when they work on a customer's question but can't locate what they
believe is adequate information for a solid answer. When I have been
working on a locked question and discover that I'm unable to answer it
adequately, I always offer my research to any researcher who can use
it to assist the customer. Also, I see it as a way to inform the
customer that someone has tried to answer their query. I know I'd
appreciate that as a customer so I choose to respond in kind.

A Researcher was probably searching for a while but didn't find
anything of consequence and chose not to comment. It's a personal
choice to comment and Researchers continue to debate its effectiveness
for the customer. That you are bringing it up shows me that comments
can and do assist you.

It may also be that the Researcher locked the question and was called
away from his/her computer for a long time or it could also be that a
Researcher locked a question, stepped away from the keyboard and
completely forgot about the lock. lol I hope the latter wasn't the
case but there are varied reasons for a lock to be in place for a long
time. :)

Perhaps no one else has addressed the Kodak question because they
simply don't know the answer. Instructions like you requested can be
found online but aren't always complete or the easiest to follow. I
didn't attempt your question because I hoped a Researcher who had the
program would address it. I know there is some sort of uninstall
program somewhere on my computer but, unfortunately, I've never used
it. I'm just a geek wannabe. ;)

I hope this answers your question and should you require
clarification, please request it and I'll be happy to respond.

Best regards and a toast to your good health,
journalist-ga

Roger...Roger...Roger.

You should know by now we'll take care of you, one way or another.
Sometimes is just takes a bit of time (I know...who has time to be
patient, these days...?). One or another of the GARs will likely have
some insight on your Kodak question, and as soon as they're back at
their desks (it's a holiday weekend here in the states), I'll bet it
gets some attention.

And Journalist-ga is right on...questions can get
locked/unlocked/no-commented for a host of reasons (I'll add one
more...sometimes the system won't even *let* me unlock the question).
We do try and be polite to our customers though.

So relax and enjoy yourself...easy on the chardonnay now...but enjoy
yourself!

Hi Paf...where the *Bl*oody hell (in the ether) have you been hiding
lately?
Glad you are still alive and virtually breathing. Will catch up with
again hopefully.
Thank you for the reassurance. I needed it. Kind regards and cheers
from
Roger (and you keep off taking too much of that Jamaican Red Stripe
Beer
too young fella)
