Subject:
Finding people who moved or died.
I need a the name of a booklet (as short a book or set of instructions
as possible) that describes the process to be followed in a cook-book
recipe form how to find:
1 - A person that has moved recently, one or more times within the
last year.
2 – The heirs or successors to a person, if the person searched was
recently deceased.
Clarifications:
1 - I am willing to pay separately for the set of instructions (or
booklet).
2 – The booklet must indicate where to find the data and how to access
it.
2 - I do not want the name of Internet sites that charge per searched
person.
3 - It would be acceptable the name of an Internet site that charges a
subscription price of about $25.00 per month with unlimited searches
and a legitimate set of comprehensive databases. (Not silly “computer
programs”). I have seen enough such gimmicks.
4 - The information can be limited to people whose original (last
known) address is in Queens (county in the state of New York).

The question is the name of a book or pamphlet that describes the
process or how to go about looking for a missing person. When somebody
hires a detective, the detective goes through a series of operations
(investigating). Is this process simply and clearly described
somewhere?

For deceased persons, you might try the Social Security Administration
site to start. They list all deceased persons with Social Security
Numbers, when they died, and where they died.

With that information, do a search for newspapers in that city and
check for an obituary on that person. That should give you a list of
relatives.

Just an idea...

What you are wanting is going to be a bit difficult to find, since you
would need access to databases that the general public does not have
access to.

If you don't want to pay a private investigator a couple of hundred
dollars to do this research for you, a genealogist could do the same
type of research for you less expensively and with access to the same
databases. Visit the website www.rootsweb.com, click on the MESSAGE
BOARDS link, and enter the phrase "QUEENS COUNTY" in the "FIND A
MESSAGE BOARD" box, and the page of results that comes up will show
various links in blue lettering, and you would want to find the
listing "BOARDS--LOCALITIES--US--QUEENS COUNTY--NEW YORK" and post
your query there so that a genealogist could respond and help you find
the information you need.

SINCERELY,
4keith
