A church wants to hold a public auction to raise money for its
building project.

Please refer me to ideas and commentary regarding the following.

1. What are the most popular/profitable types of items to sell at
auction?

2. Ideas regarding effective advertising and promotion of an auction.
(Assume the auction is open to the public.)

3. Other ideas to consider that would improve the success of this
event. (other than prayer, internal PR, and word of mouth).

Dear shikibobo-ga

Below are some sites I have located that address your questions. I'm
not exactly sure what type of auction you're considering. Will you be
hiring an auctioneer? If so, they should handle the promotion. Please
review the sites and let me know if you need anything clarified. At
the bottom I've listed the keywords I used to search google for this
information.

Thanks,

These resources were helpful but a little light on question 1.
Therefore I would appreciate a little more on question 1 for purposes
of stimulating donations within the church.
