Greetings, schrodjd!

Companies such as US Grant Resources, US Grants, GovernmentGrant.com,
FreeGovMoney.com, etc. make their money selling to customers a bunch
of free, publicly-available information published by the US
Government.

I'd steer clear of them and go straight to the Government.

Based on what Aceresearcher-ga wrote, one would think you should also
steer clear of Google Answers. GA and its researchers "make their
money selling to customers a bunch of free, publicly-available
information published [on the Internet]" How is the logic different?

research_help-ga,

Google Answers and it's Researchers ...and I surmise you too (based on
your chosen username) ...furnish customers with information that they
either could not find, or, don't wish to take the time to locate
--themselves.

In this case, aceresearcher answered the question perfectly, and
pointed the customer to the free, online databases where they could
get information they were considering PAYING FOR, for free.

Did I say FREE?

I'm not a rocket scientist, but the difference seems pretty clear to
me. One would think that anyone with the words RESEARCH and HELP as
their username, ...that also hangs-out at Google Answers would have
figured this out. I bet, that _IF_ you were a Google Answers
Researcher, you would have answered it in much the same way.

There is, after all, no other correct answer.

Cynthia-
I did not dispute aceresearcher's answer as you can see by rereading
my comment. I merely pointed out the irony of a GA researcher
(someone who makes money by directing customers to free public
information) telling a customer to steer clear of a business that
makes money by directing customers to free public information.
Since you seem particulary interested in my user name, my career is in
market research where I collect and analyze information from a variety
of sources for a major international company.

What is the address for this business and how did you find out about
them? What services do they offer and what are their rates? Can they
furnish at least 2 references? What is the name of the person who is
offering the service or names of company president or office manager?
I would be very wary/cautious about using them since there seems to be
no official registration for them at the Louisiana Secretary of
State's Office (where all businesses are supposed to be registered)
and would also check them out through the www.neworleans.bbb.org
(Better Business Bureau).

Many of these type companies are fly-by-night operators or collect
your money under false or deceptive premises, without really providing
what you expected.

SINCERELY,
4keith

I totally agree with research_help about the logic. But I can see that
there is a difference in paying 2 bucks for the link to the relevant
information on Google Answers as compared to paying several hundred
dollars to those Grant companies for the same information.
