I am searching for the ice cream bars that are in the shape of
Mickey's head (chocolate ears and vanilla face if I recall correctly).
My searches have indicated that they are only being sold in Walt
Disney World and I know that my mother bought them by the box at the
local grocery store when I was a child. Does anyone know if they are
still available outside of Disney world?

Hi tigalig,

The Mickey Mouse [Ice Cream] Bars you had as a child are different
than the ones sold at Walt Disney World. You didn't ask where to buy
them, thankfully, because I don't think they are available. The ones
your Mom bought at the store to give you at home are not made anymore,
the company has been sold to Breyers. My answer should clear up the
mystery of what they are for you though, and provide you with contact
information so you can track them down, IF they are still being
manufactured somewhere...

A Picture of a *real* "Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bar" at Walt Disney
World:

This next link is most likely what your Mom used to buy for you:

Scroll down a tiny bit to see the box.

These were manufactured by "Gold Bond-Good Humor" who has since sold
out to Breyers:

This is the Breyers Home Page showing the Good Humor brand advertized
at their site:

Here is the Breyers "Good Humor" Home Page:

It's a frames website so it's difficult to link you to exact pages. If
you click on the BARS link, you can see the current Ice Cream Bars
they are selling. The FAQ page has some information about discontinued
items, but the Micky Mouse Bar is not mentioned.

There's a TALK TO US link where you can ask questions to them
directly, instead of waiting for them to get back to me, or another
researcher.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... I know what it's like to crave
childhood foods that aren't available anymore. I yearn for Kellogs
"Concentrate Cereal" - it came in a small gold box, and expanded when
you add milk. - The Kellogg's web site indicates that it was
discontinued. *sniff*

In an attempt to brighten your day, I thought I'd link you to a couple
of my favorite food sites:

Top Secret Recipes

I love this site...

Kraft Foods

This is the registration page. What makes this site so cool is that in
the "Recipe Finder box, you can enter two, three or more ingredients
that you have available, and Kraft will give you recipe results
--specifically for what you have available in your fridge. This has
made dinner ideas very easy for me for years.

If I can be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask
for a clarification --before rating my answer... Thank you!

Thank you for all the information on the history of the ice cream bar
