Hello,

There are two reports available in the medical literature:

citation only available online:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=9583908&dopt=Abstract

abstract of a review of the literature concerning this (article not
available online):
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=9391684&dopt=Abstract

eMedicine.com in it's chapter on "Syndrome of inappropriate
antidiuretic hormone secretion" lists azithromycin as a cause:
http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic784.htm

Let me know if you need further information.

Search strategy:
Pubmed: "azithromycin siadh", "azithromycin antidiuretic hormone"
Google: "azithromycin siadh", "zithromax siadh", "azithromycin
syndrome antidiuretic hormone secretion", "zithromax antidiuretic
hormone secretion"

Neither the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference) nor any other drug
information site listed this as a potential side-effect.

This is great, just want ot thank you. Well worth my $5. Do you
think I would have gotten an answer if I was only going to pay $2.50?

I would let you know how my sister's mother-in-law pans out. Her
serum Na was only 114 and she was dizzy, confused and vomiting,
starting 2-3 days into Azithromycin. But then she was having a
bronchitis at the time too.

Thanks for asking the question. As to whether $2.50 would have been
enough -- I'm sure all researchers have different criteria for
deciding whether to answer a question at a certain price. This
question was not complicated and did not require much research, so the
price was probably appropriate for the amount of effort required.

I hope that your sister's mother-in-law gets well soon.
