Unfortunately, Stockton is not in Ulster County. It is about a 6 hour
drive from here! NY is a *very* big state.

I also tried calling the Ulster County Agricultural Society, but it
seems like they only handle the fair and not regular AG transactions.

I’m sorry. I took your question to mean that “you” were Ulster County,
seeking to buy the hens, when I apparently should have taken your
question literally. I personally made some long distance phone calls
in an effort to rectify the misunderstanding and in doing so I
contacted Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County. They knew of
no Ulster County sources but referred me to New Paltz Agway. Upon
contacting them I learned that they did have Pearl Guinea Hens but
were also at a loss for any other source.

Apparently, other than the source I provided, it is going to be quite
impossible, at least as of this writing, to find anything located in
your county itself. There may be a few places that can ship live
laying hens to you from outside Ulster County (or outside New York) if
you are interested in that option.

Looks like I've scared up a source. I sent your question to COOPER'S
ARK http://www.coopersarkfarm.com in Schoharie, NY. Today I got this
response:

"How many do you want, and when do you want them?"

Hi bigjosh,

I phoned Briar Pet and Feed Store in Kingston (845 339 7760) and they
told me that I would not be able to find any pullets for sale in the
area now. Perhaps you could try putting an ad in a local paper, or,
consider purchasing an older laying hen.

Good luck,
hummer

Indeed - Stockon is in Chautauqua County. That may be the current best
location. You may want to try these guys listed below. Their
information is located on the same page that tutuzdad offered :

"Four Winds Farm is a 24-acre ... in Southern Ulster County. Most of
the farm is certified organic (NOFA-NY) hay land and pasture..."
