IMAGE SEARCH REQUEST from repeat customer Dr. Brian Joseph, Ph.D.(Harvard)
NOTE: TIME LIMIT is 5 days! I need the image by Monday June 2/2003.

This request is for an image of a building I worked on at the
Universidad Centroamericana known there as "UCA" (in english : The
University of Central America) in Managua Nicaragua. Their
Environmental Sciences building is known as Edificio CTYA in spanish
(or The Environmental Science and Technology Building in english). It
is under the faculty of Agriculture
It is a modern, new 4 story white classroom and lab building opened
circa 1998.

I need a moderate size jpg/jpeg photo of the outside of the building
asap. There was a photo on the earlier UCA web site but I cannot
locate it at present. Their website I believe is <www.uca.edu.ni>

Note the site is sometimes down or slow due to local electricity
problems.
I will pay 5 dollars for a jpg or jpeg moderate size photo showing the
full building. If you can also get a shot of the entrance with a
readable version of the dedication plack which lists the funders as
Canada, Denmark and Japan I will pay 10. You might also try email to
the President's office in Spanish:
asrector@ns.uca.edu.ni to inquire or possibly the Dean of the Faculty
of Agriculture defranco@ns.uca.edu.ni. There is also an American
professor
Jeffrey MacCurry (sp)working in CYTA who could probably help
shot/scan/email this needed image but I lack his email. You can and
should use my name in these contacts as I helped porcure the funding.
I lack a good photo for my portrfilio and an IMPT MEETING HERE IN
CANADA THIS MONDAY JUNE 2/2003

Good luck. I have used you before and was very pleased with the
excellent service. I am a seasoned info sleuth myself so I will be
curious to see how well you can do with this request.
Thx again!

Hello padua-ga,

Here is the main page of the Facultad de Ciencia, Tecnología y
Ambiente:

"Facultad de Ciencia, Tecnología y Ambiente"
Universidad Centroamericana
http://www.uca.edu.ni/facultades/ciencia_tecnologia/index.html

I checked all of the links, and found two pages with photographs of
the same building, which appears to be the building you have
described.

"Centro de Investigación de Ecosistemas Acuáticos"
Universidad Centroamericana
http://www.uca.edu.ni/centros/cidea/index.html

"Centro de Biología Molecular"
Universidad Centroamericana
http://www.uca.edu.ni/centros/biologiamolecular/index.html

I did not find any other photographs of this building (nor,
unfortunately, any image of the plaque) on the university's web site,
but I assume that these photographs will suffice. If I have
mistakenly provided photographs of the wrong building, I would be
happy to do some additional searching.

I hope that this information is helpful.

Dear Justaskscott-ga,
Thk you for your work and prompt reply. Unfor'ly I cannot display
either photo! Can you re-send the photo's you have found in a jpg or
other easy to display format. My system uses Windows ME as op system
and some current but not latest version of Explorer.
Thx,
Padua-ga
PS is it a white 3 or 4 story buidling? Thx again. Good Work - I
think! This is real impt for me as a position may ride on my being
able to show this building!

I could not access these pages now either, perhaps because of local
electricity problems as you said. When the site returns, I will post
links to the individual jpegs. (I don't think that I can copy these
jpegs to another, more stable, site. I don't know about Nicaguaran
copyright laws, but I assume that, as I believe to be true in the
United States, I cannot copy these images for my economic gain.)

In any event, it is indeed a new-looking white 3 or 4 story building
that is depicted in these images.

The UCA site is still not working. In the meantime, I checked the
Google caches of these pages. They do not show the jpegs, but do
indicate their addresses:

www.uca.edu.ni/centros/CIDEA/images/cidea1.jpg

http://www.uca.edu.ni/centros/biologiamolecular/img/edificio.jpg

Small versions of these jpegs are cached on Google's image search.
Unfortunately, until the original pages return, you can't see them
actual size.
