Are you sure about the spelling of the name?

Do you know the exact date of birth?

Did he have any siblings? Did his parents have any siblings?

Where did David Naimer live other than in Romania? If he emigrated,
do you know when?

These and perhaps other details might be helpful to finding the
information you want.

Searching for "Naimer" in the Ellis Island records leads to the
following results:

"Passenger Search - All Records - Naimer"
Ellis Island On-Line
http://www.ellisisland.org/search/matchRecord.asp?LNM=NAIMER&PLNM=NAIMER&RF=4&ALTS=97%7Cnaimar&ALTS=97%7Cnainer&kind=exact&dwpdone=1

Do you have any sense as to what name he might have been travelling
under? For example, do you know whether he was travelling with
someone else with a different last name? Might he have had a longer
name that was later shortened?

Any information you have relating to David Naimer might be helpful.

The word Hertsa was misspelled in our earlier information, this is the
correct spelling. I exspected a search, involving records from the
local authorities. Were there no records kept? It is known that the
Jewish kept geneological periodaclly Census of the Jewish settlement
in the area. What I have found is this: Revision Census--
Roshnoshnoye--1858-Naimer. This is the Jewish colony of Roskoshnaya,
Alexandrov district,Ekaterinsiav province. Compliled on May 24, 1858.
Surely, there are records of my Fathers birth to let me know who his
parents are, but where would this information be??
