Perhaps a year ago Johnson & Johnson reformulated their 1-Day Accuvue
contact lenses. The current ones they sell in the US have a light blue
tint called Visi-Tint. I cannot wear these due to several changes J&J
made in the overall formulation. I need the original CLEAR formula,
the one that was discontinued. I bought all I could find of my
prescription in the original formula but have used them up and need to
buy more.

What I need is a source that still has a stock of these lenses in my
prescription in the original CLEAR formula that I can purchase.

Product description:
original Johnson & Johnson clear 1-Day Accuvue contact lenses

Right eye: -5.00
BC: 8.5
DIA: 14.2

Left eye: -5.25
BC: 8.5
DIA: 14.2

Remember, CLEAR only! No blue Visi-Tint! I cannot wear the blue ones.
I can only wear the discontinued formula, which is CLEAR. Where can I
buy them?

I don't have an answer for you, but wanted to let you know I called
Acuvue customer relations at (800) 843-2020. The representative told
me that, as you know, the clear 1-day lenses were discontinued more
than a year ago. I asked whether she knows of any company that might
offer them still. She said that is very doubtful because any lenses
that companies may have had in stock a year ago are now likely sold.

Thanks, I appreciate the effort. I tried Acuvue first, when I stopped
being able to find the old formulation, and they offered no useful
info, just that they had stopped making the clear ones and didn't plan
to make them again.

In talking to several distributors I've found that there are a number
of other people in the same boat - unable to tolerate the new
formulation (it's apparently thicker and in this case at least, causes
allergic reactions), and desperately trying to find the old ones. But
apparently not in sufficient numbers for Acuvue to do anything about
it. I guess we're just out of luck.

Why the old formulation can't be found.

In case anyone else with the same problem reads this, I finally got a
plausible explanation from a big Acuvue dealer as to why nobody seems
to have ANY of the old clear ones in stock any more: When the new
Visi-tint formula came out, they shipped what they had left in the
clear formula back to the manufacturer for credit.

Oh well. It was the only brand that worked, while it did. Back to
spectacles, I guess.
