Need lyrics for salsa and merengue. Often have no way of finding more
than a few lyrics for big names like Grupo Mania, Banda Gorda. I am
trying elements from the band, song title, and "lyrics" or "letras."

Here are some I can't find (interpreter and song): Oscar
D'Leon--Calculadora, Rumba rumbero; Grupo Mania--Es un bombon; Banda
Gorda--Le di mi carino; Ashley--El truco; Sonora Dinamita--El gorrito;
DLG--Muevete; Kasado--Vacilon; Joe Veras--Se te nota; Grupo Niche--Mi
mama me ha dicho; Makina--Estan bailando.

Any suggestions for improving my search technique (apart from trying
letra singular instead of letras.)

Once I tried emailing a publisher but no luck. I think they should be
marketing lyrics. Maybe next century.

At least there seem to be a lot more salsa and other Latin American
lyrics than a couple of years ago.

You might try using "letra" (the singular form) and see if that helps.
