Question ID: 21125
I want to purchase the actual yellow pages that are delivered to
people's homes in every "city" with a population of more than 250,000
people for the following countries (I have listed their general
location to help out): Dominica: Caribbean, Haiti: Caribbean, St.
Vincent and The Grenadines: Caribbean, Canada: Northern North
America, Bolivia: Central South America, Guyana: Northern South
America, Suriname: Northern South America,
I am not interested in the online yellow pages, commercial
directories, import/export directories etc. What I need are the name
of the companies or agencies that distributes them, along with a
contact name and phone number. Email addresses, websites, costs, and
weights would be nice but are not required. This will allow me to
contact each of them and provide payment and shipping instructions.

Thank You,
Joel

Hello Joel!

Here's the information you need. These companies distribute the yellow
pages to the whole country, so I didn't break it up in cities. Anyway,
I'll list you which are the names of the cities in each country that
have a population of more than 250,000.

Bolivia (major cities: Santa Cruz, La Paz, El Alto, Cochabamba)
Comteco Ltda.
Av. Ballivián (El Prado) #503
Phone 251000
Fax 520299
http://www.comteco.com.bo/empresas.asp

Dominica (major cities: Santo Domingo, Santiago)
Páginas Amarillas de República Dominicana
Phone (809)220-3124/25
Fax (809)541-0902
http://www.paginasamarillas.com.do/

Canada (major cities: Toronto, Montréal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary,
Edmonton, Québec, Winnipeg, Hamilton, London, Kitchener, St.
Catharines, Halifax, Victoria, Windsor, Oshawa)
Apparently, Bell Canada is no longer delivering a printed version of
its yellow pages, rather focusing on their online service. You may get
a printed version, though, calling to:
Bell Active Media
1-800-268-5637 (option #3)
461.412.5366 (fax)

I'm sorry to tell you that there are no cities of more than 250,000
people in Suriname, St Vincent and the Grenadines or Guyana.

I hope this answers your question. In case you need further
information, don't hesitate to request a clarification!

Best wishes,

elmarto-ga

Thanks a lot for your work. I had no idea that their would be
countries without cities of at least 250,000 people. Do you have any
idea who the publishers of the yellow pages in those countries are? I
know that wasn't part of the question, but I would be very
appreciative if you would include those countries. In any event thank
you for the completenes of your answers.

Again Thank You,
Joel

Hello Joel,

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any online resource for the
information you requested in the clarification. However, I found two
links that might help you if your goal is to obtain the printed
versions of the yellow pages. For caribbean yellow pages (that is, for
Suriname, St Vincent and the Grenadines or Guyana, among other
countries), try:

Verizon - The Directory Store
http://www.directorystore.com/product/productdetail.jsp?item_number=0CE2250001&type=int

But I suspect these are not the yellow pages that are delivered to the
inhabitants of the caribbean. So, instead, the following site offers
to find for you the printed yellow pages of any country

TheYellowPages.com
http://theyellowpages.com/typs-help-printed.htm

I hope this clarifies my answer. Please let me know if you need
further assistance in your research.

Thanks for your help and claification on this question. However, I am
convinced there is a printed yellow pages for some of these countries.
I did a little research on my own and found the information for
Suriname. If you able to find anymore information, please let me know.
 Thanks
