This question is about the seasons of the Liturgical Year in the
Catholic faith:

I need to know when each of the seasons start and end and what the
Catholics do during the different seasons. How do they celebrate them?
This is to explain to a 10-year-old. So please keep it short and
simple.
Time is of the essence for this question, please.
Thanks

What I would really like is a short and simple answer ( not long
essays) listing the information requested. Thanks

Here is a nice resource for teaching children the Liturgical Calendar
which includes a short summary, images and puzzles.

http://www.catholiccatechist.org/Catholic_Catechist/Liturgical_Calendar_Resources/Liturgical_Calendar_Resources.doc

Advent: New liturgical year; penitential in tone; 4 weeks; first two
weeks focus on Jesus’ final coming; final two weeks on Jesus’ coming
in history (Christmas).

Christmas: Birthday of Jesus; Begins on Christmas Day & ends on the
feast of the Baptism of the Lord. Holy Day of Obligation.

Ordinary Time: 33 or 34 weeks that celebrate our faith. The Sundays
are numbered or counted which helps us know which readings to use.
First phase begins Monday after the Baptism of our Lord until Ash
Wednesday. All Sundays are Holy Days of Obligation.

Lent: Begins on Ash Wednesday; ends on Holy Thursday in the evening;
40 days; penitential in tone which encourages fasting, reconciliation,
prayer and abstinence.

Pascal Triduum: Begins on Holy Thursday in the evening and ends on
Easter Sunday in the evening. Thursday: Last Supper / Good Friday:
Veneration of the cross / Holy Saturday: Easter Vigil

Easter: Begins on Easter Sunday & ends on Pentecost Sunday; the Great
50 Days; a celebration of resurrection from the death of sin to life
of grace.

Would the above information meet your requirements?

Thanks

Church Seasons by Sandra DeGidio, O.S.M.-Youth Update
Church Seasons: Mark Your (Liturgical) Calendar
http://www.americancatholic.org/Newsletters/YU/ay1299.asp

Explains the two great cycles of the Roman Catholic liturgical
calendar, Advent and its meaning with respect to Christmas, and Lent
with respect to Easter.

Advent is the span of four weeks prior to Christmas, which is not
clear from the above site.
