I am trying to find information about Roy Ringle or Ringel. He was a
football player (I believe for Wisconsin who played in a Rose Bowl in
the 30's. He intercepted a pass or recovered a fumble, got confused
and ran the wrong way toward his own goal. His mistake became a tongue
twister, "Roy Ringel's wrong way run in the Rose Bowl." Can you find
an article on this event? Martin Patterson

By the way, the correct spelling seems to be Roy Riegel.
