Hi Mapperman!
During the winter months you can longboard on the North Shore at Ho'okipa Beach
Park or Kanaha Beach Park. During the summer months, you can longboard on the
South Shore at many of the beaches on the way to Lahaina and beyond.
Winter:
Ho'okipa Beach Park Located on the North Shore of Maui. There are three main
breaks at Ho'okipa. The first break (closest to the entrance to the park) is
in front of the pavilion. This is probably the best longboard wave. The
middle break and the break located in front of the point (closest to the exit)
are more shortboard waves. On a smaller day, they can be longboard waves also.
Kanaha Beach Park Located on the North Shore of Maui behind the airport in
Kahului. The paddle to the waves is rather long but well worth it! There is a
big channel and the wave is a great longboard wave. This is my favorite break
during the winter months!
Summer:
Ukemehame Beach Park This is the first beach park after you drive over
the "pali" (or cliffs) on the way to Lahaina (from Kahului). During the summer
it is a very fun longboard wave.
There are a couple of surf spots located along the way to Lahaina that are not
beach parks. You can find these by looking for the parked cars along the road
and surfers out surfing. Oluwalu is one such place.
Laniapoko Beach Park is farther along the road to Lahaina and is a very fun
longboard wave.
Located just beyond Laniapoko is Puamana which is also a good longboard wave.
Last, you can also surf in Lahaina in the harbor.

In terms of checking out the surf and weather forecast, you may want to try:

Last, in case you need rent a longboard, you might want to try Hi-Tech in
Kahului (808-877-2111) or Sailboards Maui in Paia (808-579-8432). (Note that
Paia is closer to Ho'okipa than Kahului). However, there are many other shops
on the island that rent surfboards.
