5 stars guaranteed to any answerer *****5*****5*****5***** Sorry, but no tip will be given. No request for answer clarification guaranteed. Please answer/comment the following comment made to Question ID: 212134 " Hi, I believe I have seen you posting a few other questionaires for your flossing tool. Are you aware that numerous companies have patents for similar items that are already sold at major retail chains? If you honestly plan to market this item, have you taken into account your competition? First off, from a patent standpoint, it appears that there are NUMEROUS products that are similar to your design. In addition, many of these are already pattented. Next off, most major chain stores apready carry some of these products. You need to ask yourself why would they purchase from you instead of their local grocery store or drugstore? What makes your product better and easier to get? Some of your competitors include http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jhtml?PRODID=357331&CATID=100206 http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jhtml?PRODID=2385&CATID=100206 http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jhtml?PRODID=388969&CATID=100206 http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jhtml?PRODID=388925&CATID=100206 http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jhtml?PRODID=388923&CATID=100206 http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jhtml?PRODID=2387&CATID=100206 http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jhtml?PRODID=2178&CATID=100206 http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=44598&catid=1152&trx=PLST-0-SRCH&trxp1=1152&trxp2=44598&trxp3=1&trxp4=0&btrx=BUY-PLST-0-SRCH I am not trying to rain on your parade, but I think you have a number of issues to think through. Hello Googel, In response, I would point out the following: (1) Your floss tensioner is smaller than many of the competing products. This compactness allows for greater mobility. (2) Your floss tensioner is flat. Many of the competing products are not. Flatness allows this floss tensioner to be stored in a wallet like a credit card. (3) Your floss tensioner has a unique winding mechanism. Competing products do not. (4) Your floss tensioner appears to be made of a sturdier plastic than many of the competing products. (5) Your floss tensioner's shape is especially conducive to efficient flossing. Many of the competing products are vertical and would be difficult to use on back teeth. (6) Even if there are competing products, there is still room for a better product. The market for floss tensioners is hardly saturated. I floss on a regular basis, but I was completely unaware of the existence of the products listed on Walgreen's web site. I hope this helps. If you feel that my response is appropriate, feel free use it over on the other question (or post a link to here if you wish). Thanks, and best of luck with your floss tensioner! |
