How many hotels are in the United States?  How many jails or prisons
are in the United States?

Please include a link to your source when answering.  If you have any
suggestions of temporary living accomodations I might not have thought
of, those would be appreciated.

Industry Profile (LIP) recently released in September 2002, a
statistical analysis of the lodging industry for year-end 2001.

Temporary living accomodations can also be hospitals.
