Doeboy -- Sometimes researchers can get lucky and find an obscure weather record online. This doesn't appear to be the case for Akron. The best suggestion would be to call a research librarian at the Summit County Public Library to see if they'd be kind enough to look it up from microfilm of the Akron Beacon-Journal for you. (I checked the May 29 New York Times but it doesn't have a city-by-city listing in that era.) The Beacon-Journal is available in microfilm from this era and another option would be to have your local library request it on inter-library loan: Ohio Historical Society "Newspaper Archive" http://www.ohiohistory.org/resource/database/newsfilm/s.txt A final source would be to get access to weather information through the National Climate Data Center: Ohio State University "State Climatology Office for Ohio" http://www.geography.ohio-state.edu/faculty/rogers/statclim.html Best regards, Omnivorous-GA |
