When a vehicle strikes a highway light pole, the pole can break off, exposing the vehicle and its occupants to high voltages. One solution, often used in the U.S., is a breakaway cable system that eliminates the fire and electrical hazards. I'd like to know whether or not this concept has been accepted in Canada and WHY. Are there laws encouraging it or hindering its adoption? Are liability concerns as strong as they are in the U.S.? How big is the market potential for this type of system in Canada? Who are the key decision makers? |
