Hi there!

I have had a quick look at a few fares and I found one that is
£1739.49, stopping in Hong Kong on the way.
However, like most of the tickets I found they only stay in Hong Kong
for around 10 hours or so.

If this is acceptable, I would be happy to post the information I have
as an answer or I could telephone some agencies in the morning for you
(it is currently 22:44 here in the UK).

Kind regards,
errol-ga.

Hi Errol,
If the ten hours in Hong Kong is during normal Hong Kong Business hours
that would be ok. There is a HKSB branch right at the airport, and I need
to do some short business there. Also could I suggest you wait till morning
there and and make a few phone calls. Check out www.justtheticket.com at
Oxford Circus and see what they are offering. Get me some good value and
I'll boost the tip to the max ($100.00). I'll leave it with you and check
again in about 11 or 12 hours time from now. Should be morning in London by
then. Thanks from Roger.

Good morning, Roger!

I have spent a while on the phone to various companies and it looks
like the cheapest and most flexible option will be to use Just The
Ticket [ http://www.justtheticket.co.uk ] after all.

They quoted me a price of £1182 with £75.80 tax for a Business Class
flight which meets your requirements with the following example
details:

Airline: Cathay Pacific
Depart: London Heathrow (Terminal 3) at 18:25 on the 10th June.
Arrive: Hong Kong at 13:20 (11th).
Depart: Hong Kong at 23:20 (13th).
Arrive: Cairns at 13:50 (15th).

You will be able to stay in Hong Kong as long as you like and if you
wish to travel to Thailand, I also obtained details for a return trip
Hong Kong to Bangkok which is a separate flight from the one above.
The price for this flight is £627 with £6.30 tax, making a grand total
of £1891.10 for the entire trip.

To put the prices into perspective, Lastminute.com [
http://www.lastminute.com ] quoted a price of £1515 for a similar
timetable to the one above.
I have no idea why they are so different because they use the same
airline.

Just The Ticket accept telephone (+44 020 7291 8111) as well as
internet reservations and the person I spoke to was very helpful.

For your information, these are the details for Cathay Pacific:

Address:
Area B,
Terminal 3 Departures,
Heathrow Airport

Reservations:
Tel: +44(20) 8834-8888
Fax: +44(20) 8741-5477

Heathrow Airport (Flight Enquiries):
Tel: +44(20) 8897-9335

Following up on information from Clouseau, I also spoke to a
representative from Travelbag [ http://www.travelbag.co.uk ] who gave
me more information regarding the (return) fares with Thai Airlines.
I do not have the flight times but the schedule would look like this:

London > Bangkok > Hong Kong > Bangkok > Sydney or Brisbane > Cairns

This return fare would have a total price of £2860 including all taxes
and local flights.
One slight disadvantage is that the Bangkok to Hong Kong flight is
Economy Class only.

If you are interested in the above flight you can contact the rep,
Piers Morgan, at the email address: pmorgan@travelbag.co.uk quoting
the reference WEB41823.
If you wish, you can telephone them when in the UK on 0870 9020150.

Travelbag can offer a "Round the world" fare which will take you to
all of these destinations and even take you to Los Angeles or back to
London for a cost of approximately £3270.
However, these tickets must be issued a minimum of two weeks before
departure making this unsuitable for your needs.

I hope this helps you!
I will also clarify the previous Heathrow hotel question now that I
know the airport terminal information.

Thanks Errol,
Overnight I have decided to extend my stay here in Jamaica for another
7 days,
which should not effect the research you've done too much. I will get
on to
making my bookings within the next 48 hours and should I strike a
problem I will post a special question for you. Thanks for you
excellent reserach.
As promised cop a $50.00 tip and maybe you could shout Bryan a
"virtual"
rouund of Chardonay. Kind regards from Roger
