I need up to six articles on discrete component operational
amplifiers. A discrete component amplifier is one that uses no
integrated circuits but is made up entirely of transistors, resistors,
capacitors, inductors and such. Obviously, I don't want any tube type
designs. I am looking for techniques to reduce distortion and
improve gain. The article should describe the circuit design, include
a schematic diagram with component values listed. Please include the
full text. The formulas should be included in the text (optional).
The bandwidth should be DC to 15 MHz. I prefer cascode configuration
but all designs will be considered. I am hoping you will be able to
find such a design among the many specialty magazines. This is to help
my son with his senior design project. He has completed all of his
classes and only this project stands between him and his B.S. Degree.
He has a design, but it is plagued with distortion, noise, and
nonlinear gain.
