A cam chatting partner and I have been unable to get the SuperMode
feature of Yahoo Messenger 5.5 to work, and yet we both seem to fulfil
all the requirements: a) she's running under Win XP Home & I Win XP
Pro, b) we're both using Mess 5.5, c) we're both accessing via
broadband (cable modems), and d) neither of us has enabled a firewall
(including the one that's built into XP). Are there any other issues
that may be at work in preventing our use of SuperMode?

Hi nautico,

If you scroll through the long lists of posts on the link at the
Geek.com page you'll see it appears you and your chatting friend are
not alone.

I, too, had found that geek.com page, but failed to note having done
so in my original posting. Guess the SuperMode feature remains buggy.
Thanks. Am closing this question.
