I wonder if you've tried the NASBE's School Readiness and Child Day
Care Program. I assume that it gives grants to duly accredited people
in the private sector who want to set up Day Care centers.

Hello again Re1,
After I posted my request for clarification, I kept searching on your
question and found one website that addresses your question directly,
so I decided to hazard it and post it as an answer. By the way, my
answer is based on my assumption that you are looking for grants for
child day care as opposed to adult day care.

I hope this single link leads to the assistance that you need. The
information on the United States grants is below:

Daycare Grants and Where to Find Them - child care online Library
Files
http://www.childcare.net/library/grants.shtml

- Here is the NASBE (National Association of State Boards of
education) website that mentions a program in Connecticut:
Connecticut's School Readiness and Child Day Care Program
http://www.nasbe.org/Educational_Issues/New_Information/SII/7_5.html

- I don’t know if this may help, but it’s an interesting product I
spotted among the ‘sponsored links’ of the search results using the
words listed below:
Starting a Day Care Center - Starter Kit
http://www.startingadaycarecenter.com/?hop=thamoney.daycare

I’ll list other websites that may contain information that may help
you in your quest:

NAEYC: YCI: The Care and Education of Young Children in the United
States
http://www.naeyc.org/yci/yci-USFaq-c.asp

Almanac of Policy Issues article: Child Care in the United States
http://www.policyalmanac.org/social_welfare/archive/child_care.shtml

Department Of Public Health Child Day Care Licensing - Approved First
Aid Courses
http://www.dph.state.ct.us/Licensure/apps/appfirstaid.pdf
- Attending one of these courses might be helpful for you or your day
center personnel.

Google Search words:
day care grants united states
day care grant Connecticut

I hope this has been a most helpful answer. If you have any problem
with it, do please post a Request for Clarification and I shall
respond. Thank you.
