Recruiters/Placement Agencies out there, but I have done some
sleuthing for you and come up with the following list of companies
that have offices within 100 miles of Delaware County, PA (including
Philadelphia/Wilmington/NYC/etc., but excluding D.C.).
Many of these companies find work/employees for both full- and

The above list was compiled to provide maximal opportunities (with
minimal effort) for your friend to find meaningful work within the
shortest drive from home possible. I have weeded out many, many
companies that seemed less promising. If you want more options, I'd be
happy to compile some for you - but I believe that the above list is
the pick of the crop.
As far as advice goes, it's not lawyer-centric but I can offer the
following (having recently gone through the job search dance myself):
* Don't just send your resume/credentials to the placement firms and
wait for them to contact you - you *must* follow up with a direct
phone call and hopefully arrange a meeting. Those companies that don't
want to take the time to make personal contact are likely not going to
do anything for you anyway.
* Register with several placement firms at the same time. That is the
only way to protect yourself from missing great opportunities. If any
of the firms insist on exclusivity (on your part) then I'd steer clear
of them altogether.
* Don't get discouraged - these days, even with 15 years of
professional experience, it can take a while to find the right
placement for you. Don't necessarily jump at the first opportunity
offered you.
