Hello, I will be launching a new site that is VERY similar to www.gotomypc.com. It does everything there software does and has all the bells and whistles. The site will be ready for launch July 1st. My question is this My target market is traveling business people, teleworkers, Law-firms, and basically anyone that would need to connect to there computer remotely. I am trying to put together a marketing plan that I can do without having to spend 10 million dollars. I would like a list of ezines, news groups and places these people would be easily reachable. I am also looking for a list of places that would be a good fit as joint venture partners. A joint venture partner would offer our product to there member base then take a larger percentage than regular affiliates. I would even be interested in doing co branding of the site and software. The competitor has done a joint venture with yahoo and earthlink which would obviously provide many opportunities to market the software. I am looking for opportunities like that and could use some advice. Please let me know if you can help with this project. Thank you, Monty |

Monty -- You're asking three different questions here: I'd suggest breaking them up if you're seeking to get each answered. My professional background is in marketing remote access solutions, starting with the first major sales force automation projects. Today mobility is widely used. I'd suggest the following: * read the Google Answers questions dealing with "remote access" and "remote control." It will tell you a little about traditional vendors in this space. * make a detailed list of capabilities of your product and your competitor. Use it to help develop partners (they don't offer Mac, Linux or Solaris connectivity -- do you? How about connectivity to handhelds or phones?) * make a detailed list of marketing programs for your competitor. Go where they ain't. * use a partner approach at the outset to build rapid awareness, revenues and distribution. Assuming resources are limited, ignore trying to reach users directly in the first stage. Best regards, Omnivorous-GA |

What would you charge me to do all of the marketing? Or is there someone you know that would be qualified to do it? Thanks Monty PS: We are working hard to make the software work on handhelds and other operating systems. That will come soon but for now we want to get the initial product launched. |
