Hi,
Thanks for your question.
I believe I have rounded up a good selection of notebooks that suit
your needs.
If for any reason you are not satisfied with my choices, please let me
know and
I'll look for more appropriate ones.
I have gone for the same printer each time, because it seems to be
very popular and portable. It is also available in all 3 shops I've
looked into.
Please note that the prices quoted are correct at time of research,
and that these may vary at any time, some of the Dell machines are
subject to special *free* upgrades, which expire in about a week.
All weights are approximate and exclude the weight of the printer.
Another point: you have to have a trade-off between weight and screen
size, you cannot have a large screen and a very light laptop, sorry.
First off notebooks by Dell, which is a reputable manufacturer and
well known for its very good customer service. Dell systems are also
available worldwide.
The following notebook has a 14" screen and is relatively light, comes
with all the features you require and some more.

a bit more powerful.

Please note that if you don't have a USB cable for the printer, you
might want to add one for $20 when ordering the notebook.

Next is a very good deal from Gateway, another well-established PC
brand.
This is a very powerful machine at a very good price, it is a bit
heavier but this again is due to the 15" screen.

Gateway has free shipping to USA.
My third choice of a retailer is PCMALL. It offers a very wide
selection of laptops at this URL:
http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/cat/Systems/Notebooks/category.asp
Picked from there I can propose:
A well specced notebook if you add the extra 256MB of RAM, 15" screen
and not too heavy.

Evo N800c Notebook
base price: $1,199.00
Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 processor 1.8GHz, 128MB DDR SDRAM, 30GB hard
drive, DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive, 56K/NIC, 15" TFT XGA, Microsoft Windows
XP Pro
Weight: 7 lbs
To which you really want to add Compaq 256MB (266MHZ DDR SDRAM) for
$79.00 (the link is on the right of the page), this will give you
384MB RAM.
Here are 2 more HPAQ notebooks:

nx9010 Notebook
base price: $1,099.00

30GB Hard drive
DVD/CD-RW combo drive

15" XGA TFT display
Weight about 7lbs
You might want to add Compaq 256MB (266MHZ DDR SDRAM) $79.00 to reach
a total of 512MB of RAM.
This one is a bit more powerful but a bit more expensive as well.

nx9010 Notebook
base price: $1549
about 7lbs

Intel Pentium 4 processor 2.66GHz
512MB RAM
60GB Hard drive
DVD/CD-RW combo drive
integrated 10/100 NIC
15" XGA TFT display
My last two choices are slimmer, lighter laptops, but the trade-off is
that they are a bit more expensive for their specs, and have smaller
screens.
The Evo is light and at 1.2 inches thick, it is quite thin.
http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail.asp?dpno=553454
Evo N610c Notebook
base price: $1749
Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 processor-M 2GHz
256MB RAM

14.1" Color TFT SXGA
You might want to add Compaq 256MB (266MHZ DDR SDRAM) $79.00 to reach
a total of 512MB of RAM.
Weight: 4.8 lbs.
Last choice is the Vaio by Sony, which is extremely portable but on
the down side, is a bit expensive for its spec and only comes with a
12" screen.
http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail.asp?dpno=118550
VAIO V505AC1 SlimLine Notebook PC
base price: $1,739.00
Intel® Pentium® 4-M 1.8GHz processor
256MB RAM
30GB Hard Drive
DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
56K Modem, 10/100 Ethernet
12.1" XGA TFT Screen
Only about 1.38" thin and 4.34 lbs light (with standard battery and no
docking station)
You may might to add Kingston 256MB PC2100 DDR notebook memory upgrade
for Sony
$75.99, to bring it up to 512MB RAM.
You can find the Canon printer on PCMALL by going here:
http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail.asp?dpno=133503
Canon i70 Portable Bubble Jet Printer
Price: $249.00
I hope you can find your pick in there. These are all well specced
machines that should suit the requirements of every computer user
except maybe avid 3D gamers.
If you have any questions about these machines, or want another
selection, please let me know, and I'll be happy to help.
Thanks.
